His rebirth led the Empire to destroy many galaxies that tried to disobey commands, while also spreading numerous rumors within the Imperial hierarchy. Some high-ranking imperials claimed that he was a technologically augmented warrior schooled by the dark side of the Force, while others believed he was a laboratory creation. Only few were able to guess the truth – that Vader was indeed the same Jedi – Anakin Skywalker.
Years later, as the Resistance tried bringing down the Empire; Vader was confronted by Luke Skywalker. The Emperor demanded that Luke be brought to the dark side of the Force. Vader told Luke that he is his father in an attempt to lure him over to the dark side. As a result, Luke was seriously disturbed and then declined to become part of the Empire. After completing his training, Luke and Vader confronted each other again. Tempted and Taunted by the Emperor, both father and son engaged in combat. Luke overpowered Vader, delivering a killing blow.
The Emperor demanded that Luke kill his father and join the dark side, but the Young Jedi refused. It was during this time, the good in Vader was awakened. While suffering fatal injuries, his conscious was restored to Anakin Skywalker. He managed to take down the Emperor and managed to live for one last moment with Luke, before finally accepting his fate and dying.
